FAQ

Twelve questions. Twelve honest answers.

If your question isn’t here, drop it in the form above and we’ll add it to the page with your answer. This page gets updated every month.

Tell us what you have, or what you need. A human reads every request and replies within one business day — no chatbots, no phone calls.

Are used gaylord boxes really as strong as new ones?

A grade-A reclaimed doublewall gaylord loses roughly 10% of its original stacking strength after its first trip. For dry bulk storage, internal transport, dunnage and most industrial bulk applications it's indistinguishable from new. If you need certified load-rated boxes for stacking over 6 feet, we'll tell you to buy new — we're honest about the edge cases.

Do you buy contaminated or wet corrugated?

Yes. We'll bale it at our yard, run it through our OCC stream, and document the tonnage for your sustainability report. Tell us how many skids and we'll quote a pickup price. We'd rather see contaminated corrugated come through us than go straight to a landfill.

How far do you drive for a pickup?

Our routine lanes are Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arizona, South Dakota, Montana and Idaho. Anywhere outside those states we partner with a freight network. Smaller pickups (under half a trailer) get routed onto our weekly milk runs so the freight math works.

Is there a minimum order when buying from you?

For delivered gaylords, one full pallet — about 48 folded-flat units. For buy-backs, we typically need half a trailer to make pickup pencil out, but we'll route consolidations for smaller lots on our weekly Front Range milk run. Pickup from our yard has no minimum — just give us 24 hours notice.

What grades of boxes do you sell?

We grade every box A, B or C before it leaves our yard. Grade A is once-used, clean, intact. Grade B is 2–3 trips with minor blemishes but fully structural. Grade C is visibly worked but structurally sound. See the full grading guide for details.

How quickly can you deliver?

Most orders ship within 3–7 business days of quote approval, depending on lane and load size. Orders over a full trailer sometimes take a little longer to consolidate. Rush orders are possible — ask us in the form and we'll tell you what's realistic.

Can I buy just one or two gaylord boxes?

For pickup at our yard, yes. For delivery, no — the freight is more than the box. Small quantities are always welcome for direct pickup, or you can combine a small order with a larger one from the same delivery zip.

What's the environmental benefit compared to new boxes?

A reclaimed gaylord saves about 21 kg of CO₂e versus a new one, uses no additional virgin fiber (so no trees are harvested), and avoids the water and chemicals used in the kraft pulping process. On a 1,000-unit order that's 21 metric tons of CO₂e and 44 trees.

Do you have a phone number?

We don't. We work by email only — every request gets a written reply from a human within one business day. This sounds annoying until you realize it gives you a paper trail, a written quote and a promise in writing. No games of telephone.

Do you do custom sizes or printing?

We don't make new boxes — so no custom sizes or printing on our side. We broker new custom cartons through partner mills if you need them, with the honest caveat that new boxes have a bigger footprint than reclaimed.

What payment methods do you accept?

ACH, check, and credit card (with a small fee). First orders are prepay; returning customers move to net-15 terms. We don't take crypto. We do take purchase orders from larger accounts with credit approval.

Can I tour the facility?

Absolutely. We host partners, journalists, sustainability teams and curious school groups regularly. Drop us a note through the form and we'll set up a time. Close-toed shoes required.

Do you ship outside Colorado?

Yes — Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arizona, South Dakota, Montana, and Idaho are routine. Anywhere else is on demand through partner LTL. Lead times scale with distance, but per-unit freight stays reasonable for full-trailer loads.

Can I order just one pallet?

Yes — one full pallet (about 48 folded gaylords) is our standard delivered minimum. Below that we usually steer customers to yard pickup, which has no minimum. Pickup is welcome with 24 hours notice.

How do I know what footprint to order?

Start with the load weight (sets the wall type), then the forklift method (sets the footprint), then the product depth (sets the height). Our size guide walks through this in detail. If you want, send us your application and we'll recommend a spec.

Will the boxes have other companies' labels on them?

Sometimes. Grade A inventory is the cleanest — minimal label residue and no visible markings. Grade B and C may have label residue, stamps from previous owners, or a re-taped flap or two. If a clean appearance matters, specify grade A.

Do you remove customer logos before reselling?

Where it's reasonable, yes — we'll scrape labels and cover printed marks with kraft paper. We don't grind off heavy printing because it damages the corrugated structure. Boxes with prominent printing usually go to grade B or C and get sold to customers who don't care about appearance.

What if I need a delivery on a Saturday?

We deliver Monday through Friday standard, Saturdays for special arrangements. Saturday work costs more because of the labor premium and is rarely worth it for routine orders. For urgent same-week needs, we'll usually find a weekday slot first.

Can the boxes you sell be used for food contact?

For indirect food contact (the box holds packaged food, not loose food), reclaimed grade A is generally fine. For direct food contact, you need new FDA-compliant stock and we can broker that. We're honest about which line your application falls on.

How much volume does it take to make a closed-loop program worth it?

We've run 50-unit pools as pilots, but the economics start to make sense at 150 units and really shine at 300+. Below 150 units the per-rotation overhead doesn't amortize well; above 300 the savings are dramatic.

What kind of insurance do you carry?

Standard cargo and liability coverage for our equipment and partner LTL carriers. Certificates of insurance are available on request. We can name additional insureds when your procurement process requires it.

How do I get on your vendor list?

Email us with what you'd need from us (W-9, COI, tax ID, references), and we'll send the documents inside two business days. We've been through hundreds of vendor on-boarding processes; the paperwork is well-organized.

Can I see boxes before committing to a large order?

Yes — pickup at our yard or a sample skid for delivery. Sample skids are usually 10–20 units of a particular grade and footprint, shipped to your dock so you can inspect before committing to the full order.

What's your return policy?

If we mis-graded a load (the boxes don't match the grade on the BOL), we take it back and pay return freight. If you simply changed your mind after delivery, we'll usually accept the return for credit but you cover the freight. We resolve return claims within five business days.

Do you offer purchase orders or just invoices?

We accept POs from established customers with credit approval. First orders are usually invoiced directly with prepay terms; net-15 kicks in once we've worked together for 30 days.

How do you decide which boxes to bale instead of resell?

Our grading team makes the call at Zone B. Anything that can structurally hold a load goes into the resale pile. Anything that can't — water damage, structural failure, contamination — goes to the baler. We err heavily on the side of reselling because that's our entire business model.

Are your boxes FSC certified?

Reclaimed boxes are not FSC-certified by us — FSC is a chain-of-custody certification for new fiber, and reclaimed material falls outside the standard system. Our reclaimed inventory is, however, demonstrably more sustainable than even FSC-certified new fiber, by every metric (carbon, water, trees). We're working on a separate reuse-focused certification framework.

Do you offer any kind of inventory consignment?

For larger accounts, yes. We hold dedicated inventory on our floor for a small monthly fee and ship from that pool whenever the customer calls for delivery. It's especially useful for seasonal accounts.

How quickly do prices change?

Quoted prices hold for 14 days. Underlying market factors — OCC pricing, diesel costs, mill demand — move slowly enough that quarterly contract pricing is feasible for most large accounts.
